Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join as flexible (temporary) postal delivery drivers. You’ll drive a Royal Mail van around your delivery area, while delivering letters and parcels on foot where needed.

Shifts vary and include Day, Dawn, Early, Evening, Late and Night options with pay rates shown in the table. This frontline role offers community service, active outdoor work, and opportunities to grow with the Royal Mail network.

Qualifications

• Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Be prepared to walk 20,000 steps a day, get in and out of the van regularly, and carry a mailbag up to 16kg.
• Shifts can vary, so a team player who adapts at short notice is needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver letters and parcels by driving a Royal Mail van within your area.
• Complete parts of your route on foot to ensure timely delivery.
• Securely deliver all items on your route, including election materials and certain items as per Royal Mail standards.
• Be the face of Royal Mail in your community, providing exceptional service rain or shine.
