Job summary

The Mitre, Shaftesbury, part of Young's Pubs, invites applications for a Kitchen Assistant or Commis. The role offers flexible hours with opportunities to grow through our career pathway, apprenticeship scheme, and masterclasses, plus generous staff discounts and weekly pay.

Kitchen Assistant or Commis Chef

We're looking for a Kitchen Assistant or Commis that is looking for flexible hours with room to grow and expand there knowledge with a future in kitchens and working through our career pathway, with plenty of options to suit your best learning needs.

The Mitre, Shaftesbury is a beautiful country pub set on the high street near the wonderful Gold Hill. It is a 'Best of British' pub serving the very best seasonal fresh produce as well as some fantastic ales & fine wines, all served with a fabulous view of The Blackmore Vale.

What we look for in a Commis Chef:

We are looking for an existing Commis Chef, an excellent Kitchen Porter or an individual looking for their next step to their hospitality career, who consider themselves to have a passion and flare for producing quality fresh food in an environment that makes people feel welcome. As the successful Commis Chef you will:

• Be an active hands-on person with a passion to work hard as part of a team
• Have high standards and a great work ethic
• Show willingness to learn new skills; be an active team player with excellent communication skills
• Working alongside your kitchen team; you will be able to demonstrate your creativity and ability by helping to deliver top quality service
• Demonstrate great planning and organisational skills to complete day to day tasks
