Job summary

MDE UK is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial performance of construction and energy projects across public and private sectors. The role focuses on budgeting, contract administration (NEC/JCT) and value delivery, not sales.

You will work with estimating, project delivery and senior management teams, overseeing subcontractor procurement, changes and final accounts, with UK-wide travel as required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading the commercial on construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
• Proven ability to manage project costs, subcontractors, variations and final accounts.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial performance of construction, electrical and energy efficiency projects.
• Oversee project budgets, cost forecasting, cash flow and profitability.
• Administer NEC and JCT contracts, including variations, change control and contractual obligations.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, commercial negotiations and supply-chain relationships.
• Oversee applications for payment, valuations and final accounts.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
• Work closely with estimating, project delivery and senior management teams.
• Produce accurate commercial reports and support effective project decision-making.
