Job summary

Murphy is seeking a Commercial Manager to oversee all commercial aspects of complex EPC projects in the civil engineering/construction sector across the UK. The role requires strong experience in cost control, procurement oversight, and effective stakeholder engagement.

The ideal candidate will hold MRICS or equivalent, with extensive NEC contract knowledge, and a proven track record in improving project margins and cash flow. A proactive approach to risk and change control is essential.

Qualifications

• Commercially astute with extensive experience in a civil engineering/construction commercial role.
• Expert knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract such as NEC.
• Understanding of programming techniques and project controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial aspects of the Project and maintain regular liaison with all stakeholders.
• Monthly Cost and Value Reconciliation reviews.
• Manage project contractual changes including variations, contractor's claims and early warning process.
• Manage the project risk register with the Project Director and ensure mitigation is implemented timely.
• Support the project commercial team on a daily basis.
