Lawes Consulting Group is seeking a senior commercial broker in Glasgow to manage a portfolio of SME and mid-market clients across diverse commercial lines. You will own insurer relationships, negotiate terms on complex risks, and provide technically sound advice tailored to each client’s needs.

Using Acturis daily, you will maintain client records, renewals, and documentation while collaborating with the executive team to drive growth.

• Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial insurance broking.
• Broad experience across commercial lines products — SME and mid-market.
• Confident handling larger, more complex risks with a strong technical grounding.
• Established network and ability to build long-term relationships with clients and insurers.

The opportunity

I'm delighted to be working with a respected and well-established insurance brokerage as they continue to grow their presence within the Scottish marketplace. This is a senior-level appointment for an experienced commercial broker who can hit the ground running — someone who is as comfortable managing complex risks as they are building lasting relationships with clients and insurers alike. This is a technical role at its core, but one that demands a genuine people person.

What you'll be doing

• Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of SME and mid-market clients across a broad range of commercial lines
• Own and manage insurer relationships, negotiating terms and securing the best outcomes for clients on larger, more complex risks
• Handle a full spread of commercial products and provide technically sound advice tailored to each client's needs
• Utilise Acturis to manage client records, documentation and renewal workflows efficiently
• Work closely alongside the executive team, supporting the wider growth of the business

What you'll need

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial insurance broking
• Broad experience across commercial lines products — a true all-rounder with depth across SME and mid-market
• Confident handling larger, more complex risks with a strong technical grounding
• Proficient with Acturis — experience using it day-to-day is essential
• An established network and the ability to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both clients and insurers
• More technically driven than sales-focused, but with the interpersonal skills to be the trusted face of the business for clients

Salary is dependent on experience, with a competitive overall package. The business is keen to secure the right person and will reflect that accordingly.
