Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting Specialist Teachers of Cognition and Learning to support learners aged 5 to 19 within the Specialist Teaching Service. You will deliver specialist assessment, consultation and evidence-informed interventions, working with families and schools to improve SEND outcomes.

You will manage a diverse caseload, collaborate with partners, and contribute to HCN assessments, reviews and service development.

Qualifications

Degree level qualification and QTS, with evidence of professional development in Cognition and Learning. Level 7 qualification desirable.
Substantial experience with cognition and learning needs including dyslexia/dyscalculia.
Strong knowledge of assessment, teaching, learning strategies, interventions and resources for cognition and learning needs.

Responsibilities

Provide specialist assessment, advice, consultation, training and support to school staff.
Manage a caseload and monitor progress with families, schools and other professionals.
Contribute to Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments and annual reviews.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to service development.
