Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking Specialist Teachers of Cognition and Learning to join the Specialist Teaching Service. You will support learners aged 5 to 19, providing specialist assessment, consultation and targeted interventions to improve SEND outcomes across Leicestershire.

Successful candidates will manage a caseload, work with families and schools, and contribute to statutory processes. DBS enhanced check is required, with a commitment to safeguarding and professional development.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status with evidence of professional development in Cognition and Learning.
• Substantial experience working with school-age children with cognition and learning needs including dyslexia/dyscalculia.
• Experience delivering training, consultation and professional development to educational settings and partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, advice, consultation, and support to schools and staff.
• Manage a caseload and monitor progress across education settings.
• Contribute to Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments and annual reviews.
