Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting Specialist Teachers of Cognition and Learning to support learners aged 5 to 19. The role involves assessment, consultation, training and collaboration with schools to improve SEND outcomes.

Successful applicants will manage caseloads, contribute to EHCPs and annual reviews, and engage in ongoing professional development within the Experts at Hand model. Hybrid working and DBS check are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status, with evidence of CPD in Cognition and Learning.
• Substantial experience with Cognition and Learning needs, including dyslexia/dyscalculia.
• Strong knowledge of assessment, teaching, interventions and inclusive practice for Cognition and Learning.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of learners aged 5–19 with cognition and learning needs.
• Provide specialist assessment, advice, consultation, training and support to school staff.
• Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans, annual reviews and other statutory processes.
