Job summary

Makefast is a leading UK engineering and manufacturing company with over 100 employees across three sites in Mid Wales, seeking an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to set up and run CNC turning machines in line with engineering drawings.

The role offers internal training, aims to reduce setup times and downtime, and involves working with Mazak and Doosan equipment. It requires reading drawings and performing first-off checks; a competitive salary and benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating CNC turning machines.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Proficient with precision measuring equipment.
• Experience with Mazak or Swiss-type CNC desirable.
• ISO 9001 knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and turning centres.
• Load, verify and edit CNC programs as needed.
• Monitor cycles and maintain production efficiency.
• Perform first-off inspections and in-process checks.
• Maintain cleanliness and report faults promptly.
