Job summary

Holt Engineering Ltd seeks an experienced CNC Turner Setter/Operator to join its Wimborne workshop. The role is permanent, day shift, with a focus on setting and operating Mazak turning machines to produce precision components to tight tolerances.

You will read engineering drawings, inspect finished parts, and contribute to on-time production in a stable, well-established environment. Overtime opportunities are available and starting hourly rate is £17–£21 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC Turner Setter/Operator.
• Able to read engineering drawings.
• Experience with Mazak controls preferred.
• Attention to machining tolerances and quality standards.

A well-established precision engineering manufacturer in Wimborne is seeking an experienced CNC Turner Setter/Operator to join its busy machine shop. This is a permanent, day-shift role within a modern engineering environment, offering long-term stability and consistent workload. The position is suited to a skilled machinist who is confident setting and operating CNC turning machines and producing precision components to tight tolerances.

The Role

As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC lathes to produce high-quality engineered components.

• Setting and operating CNC turning machines.
• Working with Mazak CNC control systems.
• Manufacturing precision components to engineering specifications.
• Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings.
• Carrying out inspection of finished parts to ensure quality standards.
• Maintaining efficient and accurate production output.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a CNC Turner Setter/Operator.
• Experience working with Mazak controls.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of machining tolerances and quality standards.
• Good attention to detail and a reliable working approach.
• Multi-axis machining experience would be an advantage, but not essential.
