Job summary

Actio Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering company in Southend-on-Sea for a CNC Setter / Operator to join their team.

You will set and operate CNC turning machines, read engineering drawings, and perform quality checks using measuring tools. Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm, 40 hours per week, permanent role.

Salary £16.00–£20.00 per hour DOE with a supportive working environment and long-term career opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience setting and operating CNC turning machines.
• Experience with fixed head and sliding head lathes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret tolerances.
• Confident with measuring equipment such as micrometers and verniers.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC turning machines to produce precision components.
• Reading and following engineering drawings and process documentation.
• Carrying out quality checks using measuring equipment and first-article inspection where required.
• Maintaining a safe, tidy and compliant workspace.
