Job summary

Holt Engineering Ltd in Weymouth is seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join its growing manufacturing team. The role involves setting and/or programming CNC turning machines in a precision engineering environment. This position offers day and night shift options, strong overtime potential and long-term stability in a well-equipped workshop.

Salary range is £38,200–£45,600 depending on experience. You will work from detailed drawings, perform first-off inspections, adjust tooling and offsets,

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner in engineering/manufacturing.
• Ability to set and/or program CNC turning machines.
• Strong reading of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience producing precision components.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and program CNC turning machines to manufacture precision components.
• Read and interpret detailed drawings and specifications.
• Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
• Adjust offsets, tooling and programs to maintain accuracy.
• Support production targets while maintaining high quality standards.
• Keep machines and work areas clean, safe and well maintained.
• Adhere to company quality standards and manufacturing procedures.

The Role

As a CNC Turner, your responsibilities will include:

• Setting and/or programming CNC turning machines to manufacture precision components.

• Adjusting offsets, tooling and programmes to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
• Supporting production targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Ensuring machines and work areas are kept clean, safe and well maintained.
• Working to company quality standards and manufacturing procedures.

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this CNC Turner position, you'll need:

• Proven experience working as a CNC Turner within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• The ability to set and/or programme CNC turning machines.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience producing precision components.
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality standards.

Desirable Experience

It would be advantageous if you have:

• Experience with Fanuc, Mazak or similar CNC controls.
• Offline programming experience.
• Experience working within high-precision or high-volume manufacturing environments.
