Job description
CNC Turner

Location: Shipley

Shifts: Permanent (£48,459)

Responsibilities
  • Complete pre‑use machine inspections, record results and report any hazards or faults.
  • Complete asset care tasks in line with the maintenance schedule.
  • Monitor metal cutting fluids to ensure correct tank levels and percentage concentration; raise any concerns with the environmental team and team leader; maintain and clean tanks per service schedule.
  • Make full use of the working day by completing in‑cycle tasks and, where cycle times permit, run additional machines or conduct additional manual operations.
  • Set and operate CNC lathes per standard operating procedures and setup sheets.
  • Produce and inspect parts in line with drawing specifications and quality standards; include deburring and part marking of components.
  • Achieve required machine efficiency targets.
  • Capture data and use manual and computer systems to book and record material movements, process times, downtime, part quantities, and other information to assist in the control and development of the department.
  • Adhere to the production plan.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have a strong track record in a similar role and be an apprentice‑trained engineer (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

You will be able to set, operate and edit programs using either Heidenhain, FANUC or Mazak control systems.

Shift Details

Triple Shifts: 6 am – 2 pm / 2 pm – 10 pm (10:30 pm on a Friday) / 10 pm – 6 am (4 nights). This equates to 37.5 hours per week.

Pay & Benefits

In return you can expect £17.80 per hour plus a 39.58 % shift allowance, which equates to a salary of £48,459 per annum.
