Job summary

The JobsBoard is seeking an experienced CNC Team Leader for a client based in Crayford. You will actively set, operate and program CNC machines while leading a small team, driving improvements and mentoring junior engineers. Strong CADCAM experience and Heidenhain controls are highly valued.

This hands-on leadership role requires proactive mentoring and a track record of advancing machining performance and quality in a busy shop environment.

Qualifications

Job description

Our established client based in Crayford is seeking an experienced CNC Team Leader with 3-axis CADCAM experience. Experience with 3-axis and/or 5-axis machines required.

Our client is seeking a proactive 3-Axis CNC Team Leader/Senior Machinist with strong CADCAM experience to join their dynamic engineering team. Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the 3-axis machining department, driving continuous improvements, and mentoring the next generation of engineering talent. This is a hands-on working leadership position: you will be expected to actively set, operate and programme CNC machines while simultaneously balancing departmental and team leadership responsibilities.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Senior 3-Axis CNC Machinist or Team Leader.
• Strong proficiency in setting, operating and programming CNC milling machines.
• Experience with Heidenhain controls is highly preferred.
• Hands-on CADCAM programming experience is essential.
• Natural leadership qualities with a passion for mentoring, training and developing junior staff.
• A proactive mindset with a track record of driving continuous improvements.
