Job summary

Morgan Jones Ltd in Kent is seeking a CNC Team Leader to manage a machining team on the shop floor, programme and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines, and drive continuous improvements.

You will mentor apprentices, optimise tooling and cycles, monitor performance, and maintain high standards of quality, organisation and housekeeping. This permanent role offers a stable environment with opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC Machinist with 3-axis milling expertise.
• Strong programming, setting and operating experience.
• CADCAM experience is essential.
• Heidenhain knowledge is highly desirable.
• Previous supervisory or team leader experience is advantageous.

• Setting, operating and programming 3-axis CNC milling machines.

CNC Team Leader, Hands-on leadership role with a well-established engineering manufacturer. Lead a skilled machining team, mentor junior staff, drive process improvements, programme and operate CNC machinery, and help shape departmental performance and productivity.

The Role

Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the machining department while remaining actively involved on the shop floor.

• Setting, operating and programming 3-axis CNC milling machines

About You

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with 3-axis milling expertise
• Strong programming, setting and operating experience
• CADCAM experience is essential
• Heidenhain control knowledge is highly desirable
• Previous supervisory, senior machinist or team leader experience advantageous
• Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to mentor and develop less experienced team members
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
