Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Lead CNC Miller in Dartford to operate and program 3-axis CNC mills using CADCAM and Heidenhain controls. You will liaise with the Engineering Manager to coordinate workloads and support production scheduling for aerospace components.

The role includes mentoring younger machinists, driving continuous improvements, and contributing to a modern, stable facility with overtime and a clear progression path.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar CNC milling role.
• Experience with Heidenhain controls is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set, operate and programme 3-axis CNC milling machines, CADCAM programming when required.
• Work closely with the Engineering Manager to coordinate workloads, assist with production scheduling, and prioritise jobs.
• Mentor and develop younger members of the machining team, sharing knowledge and improving technical skills.
• Identify and implement improvements to machining methods, programming strategies, tooling, and work holding to increase productivity.

This role will see the successful candidate operate a range of 3-axis CNC machines to produce precise components for the Aerospace industry. This will include CADCAM programming and close liaison with the Engineering Manager.

Previous experience within a similar working environment is essential, and the ability to programme or previous experience with Heidenhain controls is advantageous.

The Role:
