Job summary

Sherborne Talent Solutions is supporting a well-established international manufacturing group in Belfast to appoint a Maintenance & Reliability Manager. This site leadership role will shape the maintenance strategy and lead a growing team to improve uptime, reliability, safety and plant performance.

The role is permanent, day shift, with relocation support for non-locals. You will work closely with Production and Engineering to drive world-class maintenance at a highly automated site.

Maintenance & Reliability Manager Belfast, Northern Ireland | Permanent | Full-Time | Day Shift, no rotation

We're partnering with a well-established international manufacturing group in Belfast to appoint a Maintenance & Reliability Manager for a highly automated precision manufacturing site.

This is a site leadership role with genuine ownership: you'll shape the site's maintenance strategy, lead and develop the maintenance and reliability team, and work closely with Production and Engineering to drive equipment uptime, reliability, safety and overall plant performance. It's a permanent day-shift position no rotating shifts or nights. Relocation costs will be covered for candidates who aren't currently local to Belfast.

Your responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance and reliability team
• Develop and implement the site's maintenance strategy
• Drive TPM and Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) practices, including preventative and predictive maintenance
• Lead root-cause analysis and eliminate recurring equipment failures
• Standardise maintenance procedures and best practices
• Own maintenance KPIs and use data to drive improvement
• Support long-term asset management and investment planning
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

What we're looking for

• HND/Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline
• Proven leadership of a maintenance or engineering function in manufacturing or a highly automated industrial environment
• Strong grounding in preventative, predictive, and reliability-focused maintenance
• A track record of measurably improving equipment uptime or reliability
• Strong people leadership and stakeholder management across Production, Engineering, and senior site leadership

Nice to have

Background in precision engineering, automotive, aerospace, metals processing, or high-volume/CNC manufacturing is valuable, as is exposure to PLCs, robotics, industrial automation, or Lean/TPM/RCM methodologies. You don't need every one of these we're prioritising strong maintenance leadership over ticking every box.

You might currently be a: Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, Reliability Manager, Site Engineering Manager, Head of Maintenance, or a Senior Maintenance Engineer/Engineering Lead ready to step up into full site ownership.
