Job summary

Staffline is recruiting for an Engineering Reliability & Maintenance Leader to drive a proactive maintenance culture at our Nottingham site. You will lead a broad strategy prioritising planned and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend asset life, working with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and CI teams.

The role reports to the Site Head of Engineering and sits within the Engineering Maintenance, Planning & Reliability department.

Qualifications

  • Degree or NVQ level 3 in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in maintenance reliability, improvement, and asset care in FMCG.
  • Strong knowledge of RCM and RCA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of reliability-centred maintenance (RCM).
  • Drive an asset maintenance strategy focused on proactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance.
  • Improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Embed engineering best practices across the site.
  • Enhance CMMS effectiveness.

  • Job Reward: Target of £50k £55k DOE, plus £5k Bonus, £5k Pension contribution plus Healthcare

  • Hours - Monday to Friday, 38 hours, no shifts, plus overtime on weekends

  • Reporting to the Site Head of Engineering

  • Are you a maintenance engineering professional who genuinely believes that planned maintenance should be the standard? Experience of making the transition away from reactive maintenance?

  • Do you have a strong background in maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and asset management? Having worked in factory environments?

  • Do you have hands‑on engineering experience implementing RCM and lean maintenance tools? You could be an apprentice trained or a graduate engineer, with a skill set for driving world‑class maintenance standards.


We are looking for an Engineering Reliability & Maintenance Lead to play a key role in strengthening this client's site asset maintenance performance, improving engineering equipment reliability and driving a manufacturing site towards a proactive, data‑led maintenance culture. Working in the process manufacturing area.


You will lead a maintenance and reliability strategy that prioritises planned and predictive maintenance over reactive work. In this engineering maintenance leadership role, you will partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Continuous Improvement teams to reduce unplanned downtime and improve asset life.


This role is ideal for a senior engineer, a Relaibiility Maintenance Planner, a Maintenance Manager or a Continuous Improvement Engineer from a maintenance background, who is ready to lead a large area, coordinate shift engineers, passionate about reliability, structured modern maintenance, and continuous improvement, and who wants to make a measurable impact in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities - Site Engineering Reliability & Maintenance Leader



  • Lead the implementation of reliability-centred maintenance (RCM)

  • Take the helm of a large site's asset maintenance management strategy. This isn't just about fixing machines, it's about maintaining a strong focus on proactive, preventative & predictive maintenance.

  • Focusing on improving equipment reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and embedding engineering best practices across the site

  • Drive maintenance improvement initiatives focused on reducing unplanned downtime and improving OEE

  • Analyse equipment performance data to identify repeat failures, losses, and reliability risks

  • Facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) and ensure sustainable corrective actions are implemented

  • Lead a planned, predictive, and reliability-centred maintenance engineering approach, ensuring our engineering teams have the systems, routines, and skills needed to perform

  • Support the transition from reactive to planned and predictive maintenance strategies

  • Embed autonomous maintenance routines.

  • Develop and use Autonomous Maintenance routines integrating with production operations

  • Improve CMMS effectiveness


What You'll Bring - Engineering Reliability & Maintenance Leader



  • Degree or NVQ level 3 minimum qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics) or equivalent

  • Proven experience in maintenance reliability, maintenance improvement, or asset care within FMCG or high-volume process or COMPLEX manufacturing

  • Strong working knowledge of RCM, RCA,
