Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking an Engineering Reliability & Maintenance Leader for a Nottingham site. You will lead a reliability and maintenance program, prioritise planned and predictive maintenance, and partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and CI teams to reduce downtime.

The role requires a senior engineer with expertise in RCM, RCA and lean maintenance, plus strong CMMS experience and a data-driven mindset.

Qualifications

  • Degree or NVQ level 3 in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in maintenance reliability, maintenance improvement, or asset care within FMCG or high-volume process/manufacturing.
  • Strong working knowledge of RCM, RCA, and lean maintenance methodologies.
  • Experience using CMMS systems (e.g. SAP PM, Maximo, Mainsaver, Movex or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into practical engineering actions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of reliability-centred maintenance (RCM).
  • Take the helm of a large site's asset maintenance management strategy, focusing on proactive maintenance.
  • Improve equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime, and embed engineering best practices.
  • Drive maintenance improvement initiatives to reduce unplanned downtime and improve OEE.
  • Analyse equipment performance data to identify repeat failures, losses, and reliability risks.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) and ensure sustainable corrective actions.
  • Lead a planned, predictive maintenance approach with needed systems and routines.
  • Support the transition from reactive to planned/predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Embed autonomous maintenance routines and integrate with production operations.
  • Improve CMMS effectiveness.

Job Reward: Target of £50k £55k DOE, plus £5k Bonus, £5k Pension contribution plus Healthcare

Hours - Monday to Friday, 38 hours, no shifts, plus overtime on weekends

Department - Engineering Maintenance, Planning & Reliability

Are you a maintenance engineering professional who genuinely believes that planned maintenance should be the standard? Experience of making the transition away from reactive maintenance?

Do you have a strong background in maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and asset management? Having worked in factory environments?

Do you have hands‑on engineering experience implementing RCM and lean maintenance tools? You could be an apprentice trained or a graduate engineer, with a skill set for driving world‑class maintenance standards.

We are looking for an Engineering Reliability & Maintenance Lead to play a key role in strengthening this client's site asset maintenance performance, improving engineering equipment reliability and driving a manufacturing site towards a proactive, data‑led maintenance culture. Working in the process manufacturing area.

You will lead a maintenance and reliability strategy that prioritises planned and predictive maintenance over reactive work. In this engineering maintenance leadership role, you will partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Continuous Improvement teams to reduce unplanned downtime and improve asset life.

This role is ideal for a senior engineer, a Relaibiility Maintenance Planner, a Maintenance Manager or a Continuous Improvement Engineer from a maintenance background, who is ready to lead a large area, coordinate shift engineers, passionate about reliability, structured modern maintenance, and continuous improvement, and who wants to make a measurable impact in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities - Site Engineering Reliability & Maintenance Leader
  • Lead the implementation of reliability-centred maintenance (RCM)
  • Take the helm of a large site's asset maintenance management strategy. This isn't just about fixing machines, it's about maintaining a strong focus on proactive, preventative & predictive maintenance.
  • Focusing on improving equipment reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and embedding engineering best practices across the site
  • Drive maintenance improvement initiatives focused on reducing unplanned downtime and improving OEE
  • Analyse equipment performance data to identify repeat failures, losses, and reliability risks
  • Facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) and ensure sustainable corrective actions are implemented
  • Lead a planned, predictive, and reliability-centred maintenance engineering approach, ensuring our engineering teams have the systems, routines, and skills needed to perform
  • Support the transition from reactive to planned and predictive maintenance strategies
  • Embed autonomous maintenance routines.
  • Develop and use Autonomous Maintenance routines integrating with production operations
  • Improve CMMS effectiveness
What You'll Bring - Engineering Reliability & Maintenance Leader
