Job summary

Recruit Engineering in Denham seeks a CNC Application Engineer to join its Production Engineering team. You will produce and prove out CNC programs across machines in a small batch, safety-critical environment, working with master model data and drawings to drive efficient machining processes.

The role requires CNC machining experience, CAD/CAM capability, and experience with NX/Vericut. There is a strong benefits package and clear progression opportunities within a stable, long-term contract.

Qualifications

• CNC machining experience — essential.
• CAD/CAM capability including modelling, drafting, and CNC machining.
• NX experience — desirable.
• Vericut experience — desirable.
• Experience in small batch production and lean manufacturing desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Security clearance will be required.

Responsibilities

• Produce CNC programs for new and existing parts using master model and drawings.
• Prove out programs on machines following strict procedures.
• Optimise programs for reliable unmanned running up to eight hours with minimal swarf.
• Reprogram existing parts to improve process, tool life and method.
• Accurately time programs to align SAP master routings.
• Compile documentation as part of a complete programming package.
• Request tooling as required and liaise with team on tooling, programming, and CMM inspection.
• Submit drawing change requests to aid production and inspection.
• Support installations and commissioning of new machines.
• Keep Production Engineering Manager fully briefed.
