Job summary

JW Kane seeks a Manufacturing Engineer (CNC Programming) in Portadown to drive new production launches and continuous improvement. You will program offline for aerospace components and collaborate with production, QA, and marketing teams to shape manufacturing concepts for projects.

The role involves using MasterCAM, Hypermill, EdgeCAM, CATIA V5, and Vericut to ensure accurate NC code and robust tooling strategies, while updating ERP data for each component.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• HND or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or completed engineering apprenticeship plus experience.
• Experience using CAM software (MasterCAM, Hypermill, EdgeCAM, CATIA V5 or similar).
• Knowledge of G & M codes and CNC machining strategies.

Responsibilities

• Offline CNC programming of aerospace components on 3, 4 and 5 axis milling machines using CAM software.
• Design of fixtures and work holding devices.
• Selection of cutting tool packages and tool testing.
• Verification of NC code using Vericut.
• Create process booklets and work instructions for setup and tool assembly.
• Collaborate with Production and Quality to improve manufacturing methods.
• Update ERP with component information and lead times.
