Telent's Network Services division seeks a Cloud Engineer to join our Engineering team based in Southampton. This role offers the opportunity to work with a talented team of Cloud, Network, and Security specialists, supporting your growth and exposure to challenging projects.

The Cloud Engineer will develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers, providing proactive service and acting as a bridge between engineering and service teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

Our Technology Teams at Telent are dedicated to bringing the digital revolution to homes, infrastructure, and businesses, making a significant impact by building and maintaining critical networks and systems.

Cloud Engineer - Responsibilities:
  • Train staff and customers on products and solutions.
  • Support Professional Services and Sales opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on customer incidents.
  • Identify trends and security threats affecting customers.
  • Manage documentation related to customer platforms and Telent Cloud Services.
  • Follow processes for tasks, reporting, and changes, updating relevant documentation.
  • Assist with PoC scenarios, Type Approval activities, and lab testing.
  • Create technical documentation such as TA, POC, RFC, WI, and SoW.
  • Peer review engineering documentation.
  • Assist in pre-staging equipment for customer sites.
  • Attend customer meetings and support reviews.
  • Ensure accurate and timely time sheet submissions.
  • Maintain relevant certifications and training.
  • Submit overtime and expenses accurately.
  • Adhere to GDPR and security policies.
Who you are:

The ideal candidate will have an interest in Cloud technologies, including some Azure knowledge, Linux, MS SCCM, and MS Exchange. Experience working in a support environment and on-premise Cloud Services is also desirable. Key skills include:

  • Microsoft certifications such as MCSA or VCP (desirable)
  • Networking knowledge
  • Experience with SQL Server, VMware vCloud Director, and Azure MFA
  • Strong work ethic, ownership, and collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
