A leading educational institution in Greater London seeks a part-time Clinical Teacher to educate dental students at their outreach site. Ideal candidates will have extensive clinical experience and a passion for teaching. The Faculty’s international reputation attracts students and staff from across the globe. The largest dental academic centre in the UK, they teach over 700 undergraduate students, 140 graduate taught students.
Part‑time (minimum one day a week) clinical teachers are required to teach across the range of dentistry with our BDS5 students at their Portsmouth outreach site.
These posts would ideally suit someone with at least 5 years post qualification experience of the full range of dentistry, with an interest in the education of dental students. A major aspect of the posts is to provide clinical teaching and support for the training of BDS undergraduates. As part of the role Clinical Teachers will deliver seminars and lectures, assess students and provide feedback on their clinical performance.
Applicants should be experienced and fully GDC Registered Dentists with an active NHS performer number. An appropriate honorary clinical contract will be requested from the appropriate NHS Trust and the successful applicant will be expected to take part in all aspects of clinical governance activities.
Applicants from a general practice environment are encouraged and the Faculty also values postgraduate qualifications, employing specialist clinical teachers in a range of specialities.
These are part time posts (8 hours per day), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
