OH Medical has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Lead / Senior Occupational Health Advisor role based in Barrow-in-Furness. This full-time post involves working for one of the UK's leading Occupational Health Providers in an on-site role. Your week will consist of shifts Monday to Thursday 7.15am - 4pm and Friday 7.15am to 11.45am.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Clinical Lead Occupational Health Advisor, you will provide direction and clinical leadership to the wider Occupational Health Team, ensuring the delivery of a first-class health and wellbeing service. Your duties will include:
- Helping to shape and refine clinical pathways in line with best practice and evidence-based care.
- Collaborating with directors and managers to implement company objectives, including reviewing clinical competencies and updating key materials.
- Leading and supporting the clinical team to meet the broader goals of our occupational health services.
- Fostering a positive, values-led team culture where colleagues feel supported and empowered.
- Developing wellbeing initiatives and service improvements tailored to client needs and business goals.
- Participating in recruitment, onboarding, and induction of new team members across the multidisciplinary team.
- Managing staffing resources, shift cover, and maintaining a strong skill mix within the team.
- Conducting regular clinical reviews, audits, and competency assessments, including probation meetings and annual appraisals.
- Working closely with management to oversee day-to-day clinical operations and resolve issues.
- Utilizing clinical data and reporting tools to demonstrate service impact, strengthen client relationships, and support continuous improvement.
- Ensuring all equipment is properly maintained, serviced, calibrated, and replaced as needed.
- Maintaining compliance with policies, health and safety legislation, and industry standards such as SEQOHS.
- Prioritizing clinical and occupational health cases based on risk and business needs.
- Providing clinical mentorship, support, and oversight to the wider OH team to uphold high standards.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will be:
- A Registered Nurse with the NMC.
- From a clinical background in A&E or Emergency Care, with hands-on experience in fast-paced settings.
- Postgraduate experience in Occupational Health is essential.
- A proven leader with team management skills and confidence in guiding others.
- Comfortable using IT systems, navigating clinical and administrative platforms.
- Possessing an in-depth understanding of professional and specialist occupational health issues.
- An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, capable of liaising effectively with employees and stakeholders.
- Highly proactive, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize workload and stay motivated.
- Empathetic and customer-focused, supporting individuals while maintaining professionalism.
