Job summary

Capita HAAS is recruiting for health assessment professionals to perform mostly in-person evaluations for the Department for Work and Pensions across the Midlands and Wales, with opportunities to work in the Birmingham area. You will write detailed reports, interpret clinical information, and contribute to decision-making processes for claimants.

The role requires professional registration, UK driving access, and strong IT with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• One year of post-registration experience in nursing (RMN/RNLD/RGN), OT, Physio or Paramedic.
• Fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC or other) with valid PIN.
• Excellent observational and communication skills enabling empathy and clarity.
• Ability to work quickly, produce reports on time and meet targets.
• Solid IT skills and experience using Microsoft Office and remote access systems.
• Current valid driving licence or access to transport to attend assessments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial reviews (paper, face-to-face, video or telephone) to evaluate how health conditions impact daily life.
• Observe and report on an individual's ability to perform activities.
• Analyze and interpret clinical information and supporting evidence.
• Create a comprehensive 3,000–4,000-word report per claimant, up to 3 per day.
• Ensure sufficient detail, evidence and justification to support DWP decisions.
• Develop clinical knowledge and learn about less familiar health conditions.
• Primarily deliver face-to-face assessments.
