Job summary

Capita HAAS is seeking healthcare professionals for health assessments in the Wales region. The role focuses on evaluating claimant health and disability, producing detailed reports to support DWP decisions. Training is provided, with opportunities to expand clinical knowledge and advance skills.

You will work largely in face-to-face assessments, with 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 per week, and standard Monday–Friday hours. Capita offers a competitive salary and a structured benefits package.

Qualifications

• One year's post-registration experience in a nursing or allied health field.
• Fully registered with a UK regulatory body (NMC/HCPC or other) with a valid PIN.
• Excellent observational and communication skills with empathy.
• Ability to produce timely reports and meet targets.
• Solid IT and MS Office skills, including remote access to systems.
• Current driving licence or access to transport to attend assessments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial reviews (paper-based, face-to-face, video or telephone) to assess impact of health condition.
• Observe and report on an individual's ability to carry out daily activities.
• Analyze and interpret clinical information and supporting evidence.
• Create a comprehensive 3,000–4,000-word report per claimant (up to 3 per day).
• Ensure detail, evidence and justification support DWP decisions.
• Develop clinical knowledge by learning about health conditions less familiar to you.
• This role delivers mainly face-to-face assessments.
