inspiring vet care in Taunton is seeking a friendly and organised Receptionist to join our close-knit team on a part-time basis. You will be the first point of contact for clients, manage appointments, handle enquiries and support both clinical and admin colleagues to ensure a welcoming client and patient journey.

We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Deane Vetson a part-time permanent basis.

We're a close-knit, caring small animal practice in Taunton. We pride ourselves on providing top-quality veterinary care in a calm, professional environment where teamwork and support are everything. Our team includes 3 receptionists, 1 Administrator, Practice Director, 5 vets, 8 registered veterinary nurses - and we all work together to provide the best care possible. We're a busy but happy place to work.

How You'll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

You'll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

This is a part-time, permanent role (Average 29 hours/week, excluding lunch/breaks), On a rota Monday-Friday between 8:30am-7pm and 1 in 4 Saturdays 8:30am-1pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Greeting clients and their pets with a warm and compassionate smile
• Managing appointments and diary bookings, including online and emergency slots
• Handling calls, emails, and other client communications efficiently
• Supporting clients with registrations for health plans and answering questions
• Taking payments, cashing up, and managing client orders and prescriptions
• Keeping reception, waiting areas, and consulting rooms clean, welcoming, and well-stocked
• Helping out with general admin and ongoing training
