Job summary

Priory Hospital Middleton St George is looking to recruit a Cleaner to join our team. This is a Permanent Part Time role, working 30 hours per week.

We know that a clean, safe environment is essential to delivering outstanding care. You don’t need previous experience – just a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. The role runs 9am-3pm across 5 days, Monday to Sunday, at Middleton.

Priory Hospital Middleton St George is looking to recruit a Cleaner to join our team. This is a Permanent Part Time role, working 30 hours per week.

We’re looking for people who care and take pride in an essential service. You don’t need previous experience – just a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. In return, we’ll support you with full training and the opportunity to be part of a team that makes a real difference every day.This role is 30 hours per week, 9am - 3pm across 5 days, Monday to Sunday.

Set in spacious and relaxing grounds, Priory Hospital Middleton St George, located in Darlington, County Durham, is a specialist inpatient service for adults with mental health issues, complex needs and behaviours that challenge. We are dedicated to supporting people to transfer effortlessly between the most appropriate care, meeting individual needs, enabling recovery and re‑engagement within the community, and maximising life opportunities.

What you’ll be doing

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across the site
• Following cleaning schedules and Priory standards
• Using cleaning equipment safely and effectively
• Reporting maintenance issues, damage, or hazards
• Working as part of a team to deliver a high‑quality service
• Supporting colleagues where required

What you'll bring to the role

• Good standard of English, with basic numeracy and literacy skills
• Previous cleaning experience is helpful but not essential – full training will be provided
• Reliable with a strong work ethic
• Good attention to detail
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical stamina to carry out an active role throughout the day
