Job summary

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking a careful cleaner for Education and Children’s Services premises. The role is based primarily at Mearns Academy with occasional cover at other local schools.

Working pattern is Monday to Friday, 3.30pm to 6.30pm during term time. You may be required to join the PVG Scheme, and an Overseas Criminal Record Check may be needed if applicable. A Living Wage supplement is in place for eligible staff.

Carry out cleaning duties in Aberdeenshire Council Education and Children’s Services premises.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Aberdeenshire Council currently applies a Living Wage Supplement to all Council employees earning less than £13.45 per hour.

This post is predominately based at Mearns Academy however there may be the occasional requirement to cover other schools within the network on an adhoc basis.

Requirements

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
