Job summary

Rochdale Council in Greater Manchester is hiring two cleaners to work in a busy primary school. Roles are term-time only with hours 3:30pm–5:30pm, Monday to Friday, plus two extra weeks in summer for deep cleaning.

Successful candidates will work with the Caretaker, perform toilet cleaning, sweeping, mopping and waste disposal; uniform provided. Enhanced DBS checks apply; COSHH knowledge is a plus, training provided.

Qualifications

Job description

External candidates applying for this role must be a Rochdale Resident who lives within the municipal boundaries of the Borough of Rochdale (i.e where the household pays council tax to Rochdale Borough Council).

About the role;

Facilities Mananagement are looking to appoint 2 robust and energetic cleaners to work in this busy Primary School. The successful candidates will be required to work closely with the Caretaker and have a keen eye to detail. These posts are term time only, which means you will only work when the school is open to students. There will be a further 2 weeks to be worked during the summer, to help with the deep cleaning of the school when children and staff are not on site. These posts are subject to DBS barring list checks.

The role involves cleaning toilets, emptying bins, sweeping, mopping, wiping down tables, chairs and ledges. You will also be provided with a uniform. A good knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be given to candidates who show a good willingness to learn. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 3.30pm -5.30pm.

Appointment to this post is subject to Enhanced Child workforce DBS and background checks.
