Job summary

Gorsefield Primary School in Radcliffe, Manchester, is seeking a part-time Cleaner to maintain a clean and safe learning environment. The role is permanent, 15 hours per week, 3:30pm–6:30pm, Monday to Friday, with an NJC 03 spine point (£13.28/hour).

You will follow the school's cleaning specification, report unsafe equipment, store chemicals safely, and support the facilities team under the Headteacher. This position requires safeguarding checks and Enhanced DBS clearance.

Qualifications

  • Experience of delivering cleaning services in a school or similar environment.
  • Ability to follow a specified cleaning plan with attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety, hygiene and reporting hazards promptly.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver cleaning services to the school according to an agreed specification.
  • Keep cleaning equipment clean, safe and in good working order and report unsafe electrical equipment.
  • Store chemicals and consumables securely and ensure proper stock levels.
  • Order chemicals/consumables via the Cleaning Supervisor to avoid shortages.
  • Inform line management of problems affecting cleaning service delivery.
  • Promote good relationships with on-site clients and colleagues.
  • Carry out other duties as required by management.
  • Develop yourself and share learning with others as part of the plan.

TITLE: Cleaner

SCHOOL: Gorsefield Primary School, Robertson Street, Radcliffe, Manchester, M26 4DW.

DIRECTORATE: Forward as One Multi Academy Trust

REPORTING TO: Headteacher

GRADE: NJC 03- £13.28 per hour

CONTRACT: Permanent

HOURS: All year round, 15 hours per week / 3.30pm - 6.30pm, Monday - Friday

PURPOSE OF POST: Assist in the provision of a clean and safe working environment for the school.

MAIN DUTIES
  1. To deliver a cleaning service against an agreed specification in the school.
  2. To keep cleaning equipment in a safe and clean condition and to report any unsafe electrical equipment to the office immediately.
  3. To store chemicals/consumables in a safe and secure place and to ensure efficient and effective usage.
  4. To order chemicals/consumables as necessary either through the Cleaning Supervisor ensuring that stock levels do not fall to an unacceptable level.
  5. To inform line management of problems actual or potential relating to delivery of cleaning service.
  6. To promote customer relationship with on site clients.
  7. To carry out any other duties as management may require.
  8. Develop oneself and others - To make every effort to access development opportunities and ensure you spend time with your manager identifying your development needs through your personal development plan. To be ready to share learning with others.
