Job description
Class 2 Driver Waste Collection (Kerbside Collections)

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Class 2 Driver to join a recycling and waste management service in the local area. This role offers stable hours, weekly pay, and the chance to be part of a team providing a vital community service.

The Role

Reporting to the Transport/Operations Supervisor, you'll be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive with Purpose: Operate our specialist Class 2 vehicles, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient transport of recyclable materials.
  • Lead the Crew: Take charge of a Driver + 2 team, supporting smooth and efficient daily collection routes.
  • Maintain Standards: Carry out daily vehicle checks, keep your vehicle clean and presentable, and ensure materials meet our quality expectations.
  • Operational Support: Carry out occasional loading duties in line with operational needs.
  • Team Player: Supervise the Kerbside Loader, addressing any operational issues and escalating them to the Team Manager when necessary.
  • Customer Engagement: Communicate with customers about material quality requirements, addressing queries in a professional manner to enhance their experience with our services.
  • Public Perception: Ensure that both personal and crew conduct reinforces a positive public perception, reflecting our commitment to the community.
  • Stay compliant: Complete all required documentation and follow company procedures, as well as relevant Health & Safety, Transport and Environmental legislation.

Please note: This is a physically demanding role. You will be in and out of the vehicle multiple times per day, so a good level of fitness is essential.

Requirements
  • Category C (Class 2) Driving Licence
  • Valid CPC Card
  • Digital Tachograph Card (desirable)
  • Previous experience with refuse/recycling collection vehicles (desirable)
