Job summary

Driver Hire Gatwick is seeking a reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join a Crawley-based client. This role involves delivering palletised frozen foods, picking and packing orders, loading/unloading, and supporting the logistics team in warehousing. Permanent opportunities may arise for the right candidate.

The position offers variety, flexible patterns, and weekly pay, with an umbrella rate of £19 per hour. You’ll need a valid HGV Class 2 licence, CPC, tachograph card, and clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• HGV and Warehouse experience.
• No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements: CD/IN/DR/TT).
• Able to operate vehicles safely and responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Deliver palletised wholesale frozen foods.
• Assist in picking and packing of orders.
• Load and unload goods and track inventory.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks per Health & Safety rules.
• Ensure compliance with driver hours and road safety rules.
• Maintain a clean, organised warehouse.

Driver Hire Gatwick is currently recruiting a reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join one of our valued clients based in Crawley. If you’re looking for a varied role where you won’t be behind the wheel all day, but will also support the logistics team in the warehouse, this could be the job for you. For the right candidate, this could lead to a permanent opportunity.

This role offers variety, flexibility, and competitive pay, making it ideal for competent and qualified drivers looking for ongoing or permanent work where no two days are the same.

The Role

• Tuesday to Saturday from 04:00 am to 05:00 am start
• Delivering palletised wholesale frozen foods products
• Picking and Packing of orders
• Load and unload goods and track inventory and stock
• Conducting daily vehicle checks in line with Health & Safety requirements
• Ensuring compliance with driver hours and road safety regulations
• Safe loading and unloading of goods
• Maintain a clean and organised warehouse

About You

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• CPC and Digital Tachograph card
• HGV and Warehouse experience
• No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements: CD/IN/DR/TT)
• Able to operate vehicles safely and responsibly
• Comfortable ensuring loads are secure at all times
• PPE required: Hi-Vis and Safety Boots
• Own transport required to commute to and from the depot
• Must comply with all on-site health and safety procedures

• Crawley (drivers must live within 20 miles)
• £19.00 per hour (Umbrella rate) – permanent opportunity available
