Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is hiring a Class 1 Shunter for 4 on 4 off night shifts (16:00–04:00). Earn £22.25 per hour, with 11.25-hour shifts and night allowance included, based in the UK.

You will shunt, load/unload trailers, perform safety checks, and support yard operations with a focus on safety and efficiency. Ideal candidates hold a UK Class 1 CE licence, Driver CPC, and Tachograph Card, with training provided for tug experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence.
• Possess a current Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous tug experience is advantageous; however, full training will be provided.
• Committed to delivering excellent customer service at all times.
• Able to work efficiently to deadlines within a fast-paced operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Shunt, load, and unload trailers across the depot, ensuring all units are positioned safely and accurately within designated bays and yard locations.
• Assist with day-to-day yard operations, helping to maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organised working environment.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks using company-issued technology, ensuring vehicles remain compliant, roadworthy, and ready for operation.
• Work closely with the transport team, providing clear and timely updates on trailer movements, vehicle checks, load status, and operational progress.
• Carry out local collections and deliveries when required, delivering a professional and reliable service.
• Take part in ongoing training and development to maintain industry knowledge, enhance skills, and stay aligned with company procedures.
• Complete shunter training and operate in line with company standards, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient yard movements at all times.

Excellent Pay Rate: Earn £22.25 per hour (£43,440 per annum), based on 11.25-hour shifts, with night allowance included.

About the Role

As a Class 1 Shunter, you will:
