Job summary

Gi Group is seeking a Class 1 Night Driver in Lutterworth to support one of the UK's largest supermarkets. You will deliver chilled and ambient loads, complete 1–3 store deliveries, and perform vehicle checks with accurate tachograph records.

This ongoing temporary role offers day/evening/night shifts, weekend availability, paid breaks, and progressive pay raises with overtime after 45 hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months Class 1 licence + 12 months Class 1 driving experience
• Max 6 penalty points accepted for minor offences (no DR, DD, IN, offences)
• Availability to work weekends is essential for this 24/7 operation
• Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Delivering both chilled and ambient loads stored in cages or palletised
• 1-3 store deliveries, ambient or chilled loads
• Conducting thorough vehicle checks and maintaining accurate digital tachograph records
• Drives in compliance with client standards with coaching and training provided
• Manage Working Time Directive and Driving Hours rules to meet compliance
• Act as a professional face of the brand when arriving at stores

This isn't just seasonal help; we are looking for professional drivers for a long-term partnership in, Lutterworth. You will play a vital role in keeping the nation fed by delivering to stores and petrol stations across the region.

Role & Responsibilities :

• Delivering both chilled and ambient loads stored in cages or palletised
• 1-3 store deliveries , this can be ambient or chilled loads
• Conducting thorough vehicle checks and maintaining accurate digital tachograph records.
• Drivers must drive as per clients professional standards which you will be coached and trained on
• Ability to manage your Working Time Directive, and Driving Hours rules and Regulations in order to meet compliance expectations, and avoid infringement
• Acting as a professional face of the brand when arriving at stores

Shifts :

• Daily and Weekly Bookings
• PM starts between 1800-2300
• Minimum 1 weekend day availability is a must
• Weekend only work available
• Full time and part time opportunities

Class 1 Driver Requirements

• Valid UK Driver Cards (Driving Licence, CPC and DIGI Cards)
• Minimum 12 months Class 1 licence + 12 months Class 1 driving experience
• Previous experience in store deliveries would be preferred, but is not essential
• Max 6 penalty points accepted for minor offences (no DR, DD, IN, offences)
• Availability to work weekends is essential for this 24/7 operation
• Will have the ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as an attention to detail
