Job summary

Gi Group is seeking a Class 1 Night Driver in Lutterworth to supply one of the UK’s largest supermarkets on a long-term basis. You will deliver both chilled and ambient loads, perform vehicle checks, and adhere to tachograph rules while representing the brand professionally at stores.

Shifts include PM starts, weekend availability, and both full-time and part-time opportunities. Competitive rates and benefits apply, with automatic pay rises and holiday entitlement after 12 weeks.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Driver Cards (Licence, CPC and DIGI Cards).
• 12 months Class 1 licence + 12 months Class 1 driving experience.
• Max 6 penalty points accepted for minor offences (no DR, DD, IN offences).

Responsibilities

• Delivering both chilled and ambient loads stored in cages or palletised.
• 1-3 store deliveries, this can be ambient or chilled loads.
• Conducting thorough vehicle checks and maintaining accurate digital tachograph records.
• Drive in accordance with clients’ professional standards; you will be coached and trained.
• Manage Working Time Directive and Driving Hours to meet compliance and avoid infringements.
• Act as a professional face of the brand when arriving at stores.

Salary: GBP22 - GBP56 per hour

Contract: Ongoing Temporary (Year-round stability)

Earnings: From £22.41ph up to £56.88ph

This isn't just seasonal help; we are looking for professional drivers for a long-term partnership in, Lutterworth. You will play a vital role in keeping the nation fed by delivering to stores and petrol stations across the region.

Role & Responsibilities

• Delivering both chilled and ambient loads stored in cages or palletised
• 1-3 store deliveries , this can be ambient or chilled loads
• Conducting thorough vehicle checks and maintaining accurate digital tachograph records.
• Drivers must drive as per clients professional standards which you will be coached and trained on
• Ability to manage your Working Time Directive, and Driving Hours rules and Regulations in order to meet compliance expectations, and avoid infringement
• Acting as a professional face of the brand when arriving at stores

Shifts

• Daily and Weekly Bookings
• PM starts between 1800-2300
• Minimum 1 weekend day availability is a must
• Weekend only work available
• Full time and part time opportunities

Benefits & Pay Rates

• Automatic pay rises at 12 and 27 weeks
• Double pay on Bank Holidays (up to £56.88ph)

• Day Shift 06:00-14:00

Class 1 Driver Requirements

• Valid UK Driver Cards (Driving Licence, CPC and DIGI Cards)
• Minimum 12 months Class 1 licence + 12 months Class 1 driving experience
• Previous experience in store deliveries would be preferred, but is not essential
• Max 6 penalty points accepted for minor offences (no DR, DD, IN, offences)
• Availability to work weekends is essential for this 24/7 operation
• Will have the ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as an attention to detail
