Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is recruiting a Class 1 HGV Driver based in Leicester at Dunelm. You will drive safely, comply with hours regulations and perform vehicle checks while delivering to stores and handling store deliveries with tail lift equipment.

The role offers night shift premiums for late and early hours, a permanent position, and a supportive benefits package. Previous driving experience and CPC registration are preferred.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 Driving Licence (C+E) and Driver CPC Qualification.
• Digital Tachograph Card required.
• 12 months driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive Class 1 and deliver safely in line with drivers' hours and regulations.
• Carry out vehicle checks and ensure road safety compliance.
• Complete store deliveries using tail lift and manual handling as needed.

Pay Rate: £44,177.81 (£17.69 PH) +shift premiums any hours worked between 10pm and 6am (£21.23 PH) any hours worked between 4pm and 10pm (£19.46 PH)
Grade: P
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time and part time)
Shift patterns: Monday-Friday start times between 01.00-07.00
Location: Dunelm, Leicester, LE19 1WY

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Driving in a safe and efficient manner in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• Complying with our health and safety standards at all times, ensuring adherence to The Highway Code, road safety rules and vehicle regulations
• Regular completion of vehicle checks
• 1-3 store deliveries delivering to the rear of the store using a tail lift and electric pump truck with some manual handling required.

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 Driving Licence (C+E), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
• Ideally have 12 months recent driving experience
• Are polite and friendly and have a can do attitude
• Double Deck experience is desirable
• Are confident manoeuvering in a tight yard
• Enjoy driving the latest vehicle models.
