Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting on behalf of our client in the Bicester area for multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E). The role is temp until the end of August with a 9am start, Monday to Friday.

You will collect parcels, assist with loading and unloading, update delivery status, and perform safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections. Strong communication and a safety-first mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 12 months experience required.
• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E).
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.

Responsibilities

• Collect parcels from customers, including full trailer collections and deliveries - up to 7 per day.
• Hands-on loading/unloading at depot and customer locations.
• Use devices and company software to update delivery status.
• Reverse and manoeuvre vehicles with precision; shunting as required.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections; ensure roadworthiness.
• Adhere to traffic laws and company policies to ensure safety.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Bicester area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am start

Pay Rates: £16.36 per hour PAYE with overtime at £24.52 after 40 hours.

The role:

• Collect parcels from well-known customers, including full trailer collections and deliveries - Up to 7 per day
• Manual handling is heavily involved, and drivers will assist with loading and unloading of parcels at the depot and customer locations.
• Handling devices and company software to update delivery status and communicating with the depot.
• Reversing in the yard and manoeuvring vehicles with precision, including shunting duties when required.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.
• Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.
• Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
