Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Bicester area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 9am start. Location is Bicester, OX26 6GF. Start date 03.08.2026. This is a temporary position until the end of August. Roles involve parcel collection, loading/unloading, and delivery coordination with depot and dispatch teams.

Qualifications

• 12 months experience required.
• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E).
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence.
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Collect parcels from customers and manage deliveries up to 7 per day.
• Assist with loading and unloading at depots and customer locations.
• Use devices and software to update delivery status and liaise with the depot.
• Maneuver vehicles and shunt when required in yards and spaces.
• Carry out pre-trip and post-trip inspections and ensure roadworthiness.
• Comply with traffic laws and company policies for safe operations.
• Coordinate with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Pay Rates: £16.36 per hour PAYE with overtime at £24.52 after 40 hours.

Location: Bicester, OX26 6GF

Start Date: 03.08.2026

Job Type: Temp until end of August

The role:

• Collect parcels from well-known customers, including full trailer collections and deliveries - Up to 7 per day
• Manual handling is heavily involved, and drivers will assist with loading and unloading of parcels at the depot and customer locations.
• Handling devices and company software to update delivery status and communicating with the depot.
• Reversing in the yard and manoeuvring vehicles with precision, including shunting duties when required.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.
• Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.
• Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:
