Job summary

TRC Yorkshire is recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for a Preston-based role. You'll join a dedicated team handling collections and deliveries across multiple stops, with scheduled shifts from Monday to Friday and start times around 08:30.

Safety, accuracy and clear communication are essential as you operate depots, update status, and complete pre- and post-trip checks. Ongoing work with competitive hourly rate: £16.36 PAYE, with overtime at £24.54 after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
• At least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
• Valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Collections only - up to 12 stops.
• Manual handling required as drivers will assist with loading and unloading parcels at depots and customers locations.
• Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely Collections / deliveries.
• Operating devices and company software to update delivery status and to communicate with the depot.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.
• Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.
• Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Shifts: Monday to Friday

Hours : 08:30am - 09:30am starts

Pay Rate: £16.36 per hour PAYE with overtime at £24.54 after 40 hours
