Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd is assisting a well-known national client in finding experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers for a Mon-Fri, 9 am start, full-time role in Durham. This temp-to-perm position involves mainly collections with some deliveries and a short on-site induction.

Offered pay is £16.36 per hour (PAYE). Initial travel to local sites for a tacho card download is required before progression. Induction will be completed on the first shift.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E).
• At least 6 months proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
• Valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence; no infringements for three consecutive months.

Responsibilities

• Mainly collections with some deliveries.
• Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely collections/deliveries.
• Minimal loading/unloading.
• Up to 10 stops per day.
• Travel to local sites for a one-off tacho card download before being put forward.

• Attend an on-site induction for the first shift.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
• Have at least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
• Valid and up-to-date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Less than 12 infringement points in any one month and no infringement points for three consecutive months.
• Ability to travel to local site for tacho card download prior to being put forward.
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
