Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting on behalf of a well known client in Liverpool for HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers. 09:30 start, Monday to Friday, ongoing work with potential overtime after 40 hours.

Role involves loading/unloading, using dispatch software, and safe vehicle operation with pre/post trip checks. Applicants should have 12 months experience, valid Class 1 licence, DCPC, and a clean licence (max 6 points).

Qualifications

• 12 months experience with HGV driving.
• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E).
• Valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Collect parcels from well-known customers, including full trailer collections and deliveries.
• Assist with loading and unloading of parcels at depot and customer locations.
• Use company software to update delivery status and communicate with the depot.
• Maneuver vehicles in yard and perform shunting duties when required.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
• Adhere to traffic laws and company policies to maintain safety on the road.
• Liaise with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:30am start

Pay Rates: £16.36 per hour PAYE with overtime at £24.52 after 40 hours.

The role:

• Manual handling is heavily involved, and drivers will assist with loading and unloading of parcels at the depot and customer locations.
