CDL Personnel Ltd in Grays is recruiting for reliable HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join a transport operation on a temp-to-perm basis. The role offers guaranteed hours, a modern fleet, and overtime, with a chance to secure permanent employment after a successful temporary period. Monday–Friday, day shifts with overtime available, full training and PPE provided.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC.
• Valid Digi Card (Digital Tachograph).
• Good understanding of Tachograph and Working Time Directive (WTD).
• Reliable and punctual with a flexible attitude to hours.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• General haulage and deliveries as required.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for reliable and professional HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join their established transport operation in Grays on a temp-to-perm basis.

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your responsibilities will include:

• General haulage and deliveries as required
• Delivering goods safely, professionally and on time
• Maintaining excellent levels of customer service at all times
• Ensuring accurate and timely communication with the Transport Team
• Completing all required vehicle and delivery checks
• Ensuring compliance with relevant transport legislation and company procedures
• Representing the company in a professional manner when dealing with customers and members of the public

Working Hours & Salary

• £33,792 per annum based on 44 guaranteed hours per week
• Up to £46,080 per annum based on an average 60-hour working week
• Monday-Friday, day shifts
• 44 hours guaranteed pay per week, based on a full working week
• Overtime available
• Working hours may vary in accordance with business requirements, and reasonable additional hours may be required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• A full and valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Valid Driver CPC
• Valid Digital Tachograph (Digi) Card
• A good understanding of Tachograph and Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations
• Previous Class 1 driving experience is required; however, we would consider candidates with no previous Class 1 experience if they are the right candidate for the role
• A reliable and punctual approach to work
• A flexible attitude towards working hours and operational requirements
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• A professional approach to driving and representing the company
