Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting on behalf of our client in the Bicester area for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (C+E). Ongoing full-time or part-time work with shifts 12:00 to 21:00, and weekend rotations.

Shifts include midweek and weekend rates with paid overtime after 8 hours. Depot duties include loading, unloading, and delivering to hubs while following safety and tachograph rules.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E).
• DCPC and Digital Tachograph card valid and in date.
• No more than 6 points on licence; flexibility to work shifts including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Perform depot transfers, trailer swaps and loading/unloading tasks as required.
• Ensure compliance with WTD legislation and tachograph rules.
• Maintain clear communication with depot and hub teams to ensure on-time deliveries.

Job description

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Bicester area. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Shifts:

Shifts run across Monday to Sunday (full time or part time available or ad-hoc).

Hours:

Start times any time between 12:00pm to 21:00pm (Flexibility for shift times required).

Pay Rate:

• Midweek - £18.15 per hour rising to £19.15 after 12 weeks.
• Midweek overtime (after 8 hours) - £25.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks.
• Saturday - £23.52 per hour rising to £24.52 after 12 weeks.
• Saturday overtime (after 8 hours) - £25.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks.
• Sunday - £26.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks.
• Bank Holidays - £34.42 per hour rising to £35.42 after 12 weeks.

The role:

• Execute depot pull, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub.
• Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot.
• Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot
• Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally doing trailer swaps requiring uncoupling the vehicle.
• Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.
• Travel to local sites for a one-off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position.
• Attend an on-site induction for the first shift.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
• Have at least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Less than 12 infringement points in any one month and no infringement points for three consecutive months.
• Flexibility to work shifts across Monday to Sunday with start times from 12 pm - 9 pm (all paid at night rate).
• Ability to travel to local site for tacho card download prior to being put forward.
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
