Job summary

Ignition Driver Recruitment is seeking a professional HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver for trunking work in Norwich. Shift patterns vary; immediate starts available with competitive hourly pay and weekly Friday payroll. Role includes curtain sider duties and regular depot-to-depot trunking, with a strong emphasis on safety and timely deliveries.

You will need a valid UK Class 1 licence, 2 years of commercial experience, CPC qualification, and a tachograph card. Applications from veterans are welcomed.

Qualifications

• A valid UK Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence.
• At least 2 years commercial Class 1 driving experience.
• A valid Driver CPC qualification and a valid Digital Tachograph Card.

Responsibilities

• Trunk between depots and distribution centres.
• Curtain sider work – pull curtains for side tip deliveries.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Ensure deliveries are safe, professional and on time.
• Comply with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and RT regulations.
• Complete all paperwork and electronic records accurately.

The Role

As a professional HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties may include:

• Trunking between depots and distribution centres
• Curtain Sider work
  • Driver required to pull the curtains for side tip deliveries
• Completing daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely, professionally and on time
• Complying with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and Road Transport regulations
• Completing all relevant paperwork and electronic records accurately

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this role, you'll need:

• A valid UK Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence
• At least 2 years' commercial Class 1 driving experience
• A valid Driver CPC qualification (DCPC)
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• A professional attitude with a strong commitment to safety and customer service
