Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd. is seeking a Class 1 Day Driver to operate curtain side/LST trailers, collect goods from Davidstow, and deliver to Heathfield.

You will ensure secure loading, perform daily safety checks, and stay connected with the transport team to meet customer expectations. The role requires a UK Class 1 CE licence, Driver CPC, and Tachograph Card, with emphasis on safety, efficiency, and professional customer service.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK Class 1 CE Driving Licence.
• Possess a current Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Be passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and representing the business professionally.
• Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines and delivery schedules.
• Have a confident, professional and courteous manner, with a strong team-focused approach.
• Possess good geographical knowledge and route planning awareness.
• Be flexible, reliable and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to adapt to operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate a curtain side trailer or LST, collecting wheat powder from our customer site in Davidstow and transporting it safely and efficiently to our warehouse in Heathfield.
• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices.

Shift

Monday to Friday, starting at 07:30hrs, based on a 48-hour working week.

Competitive Salary

£35,042 per annum - £40,154 per annum, depending on hours worked, with excellent opportunities to boost your earnings through overtime, weekend premiums and enhanced bank holiday rates.

About the Role

As a Class 1 Day Driver, you will:
