Here at GXO Logistics, we are looking for a Class 1 Driver to join our team in Harlow. You’ll be responsible for the secure transport of hazardous goods such as lithium‑ion batteries and solar panels, across the UK for our client Octopus.

This is a full‑time, permanent position, working on a Monday to Friday pattern, with a start time window of 05:00 to 06:00, contracted to 48 hours per week.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
  • Safely transport ADR‑classified goods (e.g. lithium‑ion batteries) to and from customer sites
  • Carry out vehicle checks, report defects, and ensure compliance with company and legal safety standards
  • Follow ADR, Driver Hours, Tachograph, and Health & Safety regulations at all times
  • Accurately complete delivery documentation (ePODs, manifests, waste transfer notes if required)
  • Provide a professional, reliable service when representing the company to customers and site contacts
What you need to succeed at GXO:
  • Valid Category CE (Class 1) UK driving licence
  • Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous experience with hazardous goods transport (batteries/solar panels desirable)
  • Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and excellent customer service
  • Ability to work independently with a professional approach
