Job summary

Ignition Driver Recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver for trunking between depots in the Newcastle area. The role includes curtain sider work and pulling curtains for side tip deliveries, with daily vehicle checks and accurate paperwork.

Applicants must have a valid UK Class 1 licence (C+E), at least 2 years’ experience, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card. The job offers competitive pay, regular shifts, and opportunities for ongoing work within a supportive team.

Location: Newcastle

Pay Rate: £16.60 to £33.12 per hour

Shifts: Various shiftsavailable cross 7 days/nights

Experience: 2 years Class 1 experience required

The Role

As a professional HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties may include:

• Trunking between depots and distribution centres
• Curtain Sider work
  • Driver required to pull the curtains for side tip deliveries
• Completing daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely, professionally and on time
• Complying with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and Road Transport regulations
• Completing all relevant paperwork and electronic records accurately

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this role, you'll need:

• A valid UK Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence
• At least 2 years' commercial Class 1 driving experience
• A valid Driver CPC qualification (DCPC)
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• A professional attitude with a strong commitment to safety and customer service
