Job summary

Ignition Driver Recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver for trunking between depots in the Newcastle area. The role includes curtain sider work and pulling curtains for side tip deliveries, with daily vehicle checks and accurate paperwork.

Applicants must have a valid UK Class 1 licence (C+E), at least 2 years’ experience, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card. The job offers competitive pay, regular shifts, and opportunities for ongoing work within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
• At least 2 years' commercial Class 1 driving experience.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification (DCPC) and Digital Tachograph Card.

Responsibilities

• Trunking between depots and distribution centres.
• Curtain sider work; driver to pull curtains for side tip deliveries.
• Completing daily vehicle checks and defect reporting.
• Deliveries completed safely, on time and in a professional manner.
• Complying with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and RT regulations.
• Completing all relevant paperwork and electronic records.
