Job summary

Ignition Driver Recruitment is recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers to work with our client in Newcastle. Join a well-established operation with consistent work, modern vehicles and immediate starts available.

We offer days, nights, weekends, full-time, part-time or ad hoc work with flexible shifts, weekly pay and overtime opportunities to maximise earnings. Applicants must have UK Class 1 licence, 2 years of experience, DCPC and Tachograph Card, and be UK residents.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
• At least 2 years of commercial Class 1 driving experience.
• Valid DCPC qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Professional attitude with safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Trunking between depots and distribution centres.
• Curtain sider work and pulling curtains for side tip deliveries.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and defect reporting.
• Ensure deliveries are completed safely and on time.
• Comply with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and Road Transport regulations.
• Complete all relevant paperwork and electronic records accurately.

The Role

As a professional HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties may include:

• Trunking between depots and distribution centres
• Curtain Sider work
• Driver required to pull the curtains for side tip deliveries
• Completing daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely, professionally and on time
• Complying with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and Road Transport regulations
• Completing all relevant paperwork and electronic records accurately

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this role, you'll need:

• A valid UK Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence
• At least 2 years' commercial Class 1 driving experience
• A valid Driver CPC qualification (DCPC)
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• A professional attitude with a strong commitment to safety and customer service
